The earlier LTQ Orbitrap XL and Discovery instruments were configured with the LT FT Ultra and LTQ Orbitrap XL names in the registry. The presence of the different names was causing confusion in the BioworksBrowser and extract_msn. Therefore, these two programs need to be fixed to handle the files that were generated by the first LTQ Orbitrap XL and Orbitrap Discovery instruments. In addition, the code will be modified to allow it to handle the next variations of these instruments that are in development.
LTQ Orbitrap XL and Orbitrap Discovery instruments running LTQ Orbitrap XL 2.4 RC3 or later do not need this QuickFix.
